Freedom of choice to communicate
Othos Telecommunications was funded in 2006 by businessman Rocelo Lopes, Who noticed in VoIP – with his international experience of over 15 years in the telecommunications field – the possibility of expansion and evolution of such market. Thus, in the first three years Othos focused on studying the market and base the technological knowledge for the definition of the business plan. Yet, during this period, some professionals who stood out in the IT area contributed to the conception of the company and, simultaneously, the headquarters in São Paulo and the office in South Africa were acquired. At the end of 2009, the installation of the company in San José, Costa Rica, began, confirming the international characteristic of the company. At last, after the participation in the NETCOM fair, in August 2009, Othos started its activities of commercial promotion.
